The Year 2002

Discussion Surgical staff

This was the first Derbyshire Cuba Network visit to Cuba and we visited Havana then Camagüey and then returned to Havana.

We established personal links which built confidence all round that was a basis for further developments.

June 2002

The agreement has been signed

One achievement during the June visit by Mrs Moz Greenshields and Councillor Robin Turner was the signing of the Letter of Intention to develop education and friendship links. A group of people concerned with education and in particular with advice and support for children with Special Education Needs will be visiting schools and facilities in Camagüey. The members of the group are:

  • Bill Greenshields - Derbyshire National Union of Teachers
  • Moz Greenshields - Unison

Would members of this group please consider asking Bill for my mobile phone number while they are in Cuba to "TEXT" me via mobile phone a sentence about their impressions. I could then create a mini report before the group returns. Or even by e-mail if it is possible.
