A Week of Culture in the year 2006 in the City of Camagüey
The visit to Cuba is being planned to coincide with La Semana de Cultura Camagüeyana (the City of Camagüey Week of Culture) – organised by the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power – which will be from the 1st to 7th of February, 2006. The 492nd anniversary of the city is on the 2nd. The cities in Cuba were founded soon after the arrival of the Genoese adventurer, Christopher Columbus April 30th 1494 during his colonizing second voyage.
